We looked at a number of options , including a night at the airport, for what to do once in Auckland. We decided that even a small sleep in a comfortable bed would do us wonders, so we had booked into the Skyway Lodge Motel just a stones throw from the airport.
As we were goiig to have to carry all our clothing with us on the bike in a backpack and tankbag, we needed somewhere to store our suitcases for 3 weeks. The Skyway Lodge was able to both look after the suitcase (we packed everything in just the one) for us and deliver it to the airport when we flew in from South Island at the end of the tour - all at a pretty good rate, RESULT again!
